Privacy Policy

This policy describes how jadewell, Inc. (“jadewell”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use jadewell.me, take the Pattern Quiz, or purchase our products.
1. What we collect
Information you provide: your name, email address, and shipping address; your Pattern Quiz responses, which include information about your health, symptoms, medications, and wellbeing; if you are a Custom Formula patient, the health information you provide during intake, consultations, and check-ins; messages you send us; and payment information, which is collected and processed directly by Stripe and never stored by jadewell.
Information collected automatically: device and usage data through cookies and analytics tools, including pages visited, quiz completion events, and referral source, via Google Analytics.
2. Consumer health data
Your quiz responses and clinical information are consumer health data. We collect them for one purpose: matching you to a Chinese Herbal Medicine formula and enabling a licensed herbalist to review or provide that formula safely. We do not sell your health data, do not share it with advertisers, do not use it for advertising targeting, and do not place health information in URLs, analytics events, or marketing emails. Where laws such as the Washington My Health My Data Act apply, you have the rights described in section 6, and we obtain your consent to collect and process this data when you take the quiz.
If you are a Custom Formula patient, records of your clinical care are maintained in our electronic health record system and handled under applicable health privacy laws, in addition to the protections described here. Custom Formula patients receive additional privacy documentation at intake.
3. How we use information
To generate your quiz result and match you to a formula; to enable practitioner review of Signature Formula orders and practitioner care for Custom Formula patients; to process payments, fulfill shipments, and manage your subscription; to send transactional emails about your order and account; to send marketing emails if you have opted in, which never contain your health information and which you can leave anytime via the unsubscribe link; to improve the site and quiz using aggregated, de-identified data; and to comply with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
Service providers acting on our instructions: Supabase (secure data storage), Stripe (payments; Stripe receives no health information), Brevo (email delivery), ZeroBounce (email address verification), Zapier (workflow automation), and Google Analytics (site usage; no health data is sent to analytics). For Custom Formula patients, our electronic health record provider stores clinical records. The licensed herbalist reviewing your Signature Formula order or providing your Custom Formula care sees your health information for that purpose. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Retention
We keep your information while your account or subscription is active and as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it, except where longer retention is required by law, for records of transactions, or for clinical record retention periods that apply to Custom Formula care.
6. Your rights
Depending on your state, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it, to withdraw consent to health data processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these, email aria@jadewell.me. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe your state’s law requires. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response. Deletion rights may be limited for Custom Formula clinical records where law requires their retention.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for site function and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest for quiz and clinical data, and access controls limiting health data to those who need it for review, care, and fulfillment. No system is perfectly secure, and you use the site at your own risk.
9. Children
The site and products are for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn we have.
